Wreaths of Flowers

from Lula - songs from girlhood by Louisa John-Krol

/

about

I wrote and sang this ditty at Ormond College, 1980s, and still do in my garden 40 years later. This recording is a cappella (purely voice) and recent (2024) as it hasn't yet turned up in cassette searches so I just sang it anew.

lyrics

Wreaths of flowers
fill my pockets and my hair with these
Sing some riddles and roundelays
a pomerine if you please

Trees of roses
scarlet towers entwined in green
Come and ring the circle of the Faery
our junortoun jubilee
