The Healer's Names - Persian (bonus)

about

Two decades after creating this album Argo, and nearly 20 years after its 1996 release, I met Zeinab Yazdanfar, whose sonorous voice we recorded reciting lines by Rumi for this remix, engineered by Jack Setton, Mad Cat Sound. We bounced Zeinab's recitals - along with additional lines by me in translation of Rumi's lines - onto Harry Williamson's original mix, which appears earlier in this digital presentation of Argo at Bandcamp.

The song was/ is a tribute to Sufi alchemist/philosopher Marsilio Ficino, who was friends with Botticelli, so it felt appropriate to have a Sufi poet's beautiful lines nestle here. Like the centaur of the Argonauts, Ficino was a physician and tutor.

lyrics

The original lyrics held only one word: Healer.

In this expanded version we also hear Rumi's poetry in translation:
'There is a field, I'll meet you there ... '
