From our 3rd CD Ariel, released on Prikosnovénie, France.
‘Hence, away; now all is well: one, aloof, stand sentinel’
- Act II, Scene III, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ by Shakespeare
Sentinel: a guard, guardian, totem or guide.
Will o’ the Wisp: a sprite who lures travellers with a light, leading to illusion and danger.*
Their struggle is creative. In our fortress we are safe, yet can sink into entropy. Beyond, we are free to seek whimsical fires, but at what cost?
*Will o’ the Wisp is known by many names: Jack-a-Lantern, Jack in the Green, Puck, Robin Goodfellow, Ignis Fatuus (‘the foolish fire’) and the Lantern Man, among others, according to Katharine Briggs in ‘A Dictionary of Fairies.’
lyrics
Shouldn’t we go home?
Couldn’t we just sleep under stars?
Is that a Will o’ the Wisp through the trees?
Seems like we’re often led to believe …
Oh! those dreams,
Wild animals hunting in reed
Shouldn’t we go home?
Couldn’t we just live like the birds?
Is that a Will o’ the Wisp through the trees?
Seems like we’re often led to believe …
Oh! those dreams,
Wild oceans are moving in mead

"All Becompassed by Stars" (Dandelion Wine): Genre-bending contemporary medieval trance, with psychedelic eclectic mix of modern & ancient instruments, quirky lyrics and sophisticated production. Louisa John-Krol
Haunting, ethereal, melancholy, with exquisite vocals and illustration by a multi-instrumentalist Spanish composer, who presents fabulous videos and is also a sweet, gentle faery. World, love her. Louisa John-Krol
This album carries one of my favourite recordings by this legendary mythic rock band: Adrienne's song 'The Children of Lir'. It's so good that it feels like a traditional ballad. Louisa John-Krol
